Abstract:	本研究針對(1)太鼓的歷史演變及傳承、(2)太鼓的文化背景進行探究，其結果發現，日本太鼓的歷史在繩文時代就已經存在，且是由亞洲大陸傳入日本。起初為宗教性質的太鼓，後因時代的變遷，也由宗教性質轉變成政治、民俗、藝能等性質；並在西方文化的衝擊下，改變了原來的形態，演變成現今的和太鼓。此外，太鼓在受西方衝擊時，為了不讓文化失傳，日本政府也積極的鼓勵民眾去瞭解、參與，讓文化與生活結合，進而實現了傳承的目的。
