Abstract:	台灣大部分的企業型態以中小型為主，形成北部服務業、南部化工業和中部的機械業等產業群聚。中台灣是許多傳統製造產業的重要區域，包括機密機械、手工具、紡織業、自行車產業、水五金等，這些中小企業過去憑著低成本優勢，走到至今，但隨著全球化競爭的影響，這些優勢逐漸的喪失，這些企業該如何透過創新以度過經營危機。因此，本研究的目的是探討中部機械產業的關鍵因素，要如何解決的難題。本專題接著探討台灣經濟發展的重要性及比較中小企業歷年來的經濟狀況，以了解中小企業經營的整體狀況。以目前台中工業區、中部科學園區、及台中市精密機械科技創新園區之企業產業概況分析及種類介紹來探討研究。
