Abstract:	中華民族有史以來，對於忠義事蹟，世代皆備受尊崇與褒賞。如劉、關、張、桃園三結義，在三國演義中之忠義情事，千秋流傳、萬世享祀。如水滸傳一百零八條好漢，義結梁山泊，行俠天下膾炙人口。以大里七將軍廟的故事來做發想和改編，故事描述六名士兵和一隻義犬在清同治年間以『防番』為職責時殉難，受清廷政府明令表揚其忠義可嘉。是臺灣近代史中，因忠貞義烈受百姓頌揚，而享祀千秋、香火鼎盛、神跡靈驗保護老百姓的故事。
